Making the Workout an Outdoor Sport |

I join a fitness club for the week every year in the summer while I vacation in San Diego. The outdoor sport classes that are taught there keep me in shape while I hang out on the beach, eat way too much seafood and drink more than my share of wine.
I really like these workouts as they offer an outdoor class. The gym actually makes the exercise program an outdoor sport of sorts. The class begins in the gym with a warm up and then the instructor lines up the students in single file and we all head outdoors. This gym is located one block away from the beach with a park across the street. The park has a built in workout section, picnic tables and lots of thick green grass.
This outdoor sport exercise program uses every bit of fitness equipment available and also uses those picnic benches. As the instructor leads the class single file into the park we do pulls ups, squats, push ups and quick steps over the picnic benches. Once we hit the grass it is time for sprints and more push ups. Then we head for the beach where the class is lead on a short run. This outdoor sport workout is not for wimps. Afterwards I am ready to make it a day! |
